Philosophy of Teaching

At Yahweh's Elect Academy our goal  is to meet the individual needs of each actively enrolled student and to ensure they reach their full potential as spiritual discerners and lifelong learners. 

1.  Y.E.A.'s  small, child-centered  classrooms (12:1) afford individualized learning where scholars are given the opportunity to progress at their own pace.
2. Scholars are "met where they are" and treated as individuals. Teachers and administrators are intentional about the success of each student. Y.E.A  accomplishes this through our small group instruction. 
3. Scholars are placed into small groups according to their ability level (as a result of frequent and thorough teacher assessments in the areas of Reading and Math.)
4. Each classroom has one credentialed teacher and an Assistant Teacher.
5. Separating scholars into leveled groups allows the teacher to provide direct Reading instruction in both comprehension and fluency based on their specific ability level. 
6. Assistant Teachers will create miniature classrooms during center rotation to review phonics, spelling, and penmanship skills associated with the lesson. 
7. Students rotate to different centers, frequently, to receive instruction that is geared specifically to their ability level, preventing exasperation (too difficult) and boredom (too easy).
